Evangeline (Kelly Macdonald) – THEN

The family’s scullery maid who went from rags to riches was one of the characters we all rooted for. Remember when everyone was covered in cake and cream as the plot was coming full circle? Nanny McPhee was magically melting snow on the ground (“in August!”) during that scene while Evangeline and Cedric were melting our hearts. Corny but true, admit it! She professed her love for her boss and all we could think was “awwwww!”.

Nowadays, Kelly Macdonald is still acting in major productions, winning all sorts of awards like BAFTAs and Emmys for her roles. She’s also a Disney princess if you didn’t know – Princess Merida in Brave! Her latest projects include The Child In Time opposite Benedict Cumberbatch, Holmes & Watson and an upcoming BBC2/Netflix series called Giri/Haji.
