Edna Turnblad (John Travolta) – THEN

As boisterous as Edna seemed to be, we still felt sorry for her. Her issues with her appearance and age meant she never left the house (a dream for some and a nightmare for others) and this also meant she was sceptical about Tracy pursuing her dreams. Still, we watched her gain some confidence after a makeover and most certainly after Motormouth convinced her that big = beautiful! Plus, with a husband telling you that his ‘heart only beats for size 60’, what more could you ask for?

Nowadays, John is being nominated for Emmy’s and Golden Globes, notably for his role in American Crime Story: The People v. O. J. Simpson. Besides that, it’s all about the new bald look he’s sporting as of this year.
