Tracy Turnblad (Nikki Blonsky) – THEN

And finally the star of the show, Tracy herself. She’s full of life and so passionate about dancing, that she doesn’t care how much she weighs and we lived for that! Add in the fact that she was totally oblivious (or deliberately ignorant) of all the racial segregation madness and we were in love. One of her sweeter moments was when Motormouth was rallying against racism and Tracy joins in with a sign in hand. We love a character who fights for equality! Plus, she served as proof that dreams do come true if you push yourself.

Nikki Blonksy’s career hasn’t been as big as we like to think Tracy’s turned out to be. She hasn’t been in any major roles recently but did get a cosmetology license to pursue hair-styling and makeup so she’s definitely keeping herself busy.
