Sara Crewe (Liesel Matthews) – THEN

Our glorious, yet completely tragic, heroine. Our Sara is going to have enough ammunition from the events of this film to keep therapists in business for decades to come.

Not only being initially uprooted from her home and friends in India to go to a whole different continent (which was a whole ocean away from where her father was fighting), but having to deal with hearing the news that her dad had been killed, losing her whole life, and then having to become a maid within what seems like 48 hours. That girl is going to have some deep rooted issues in the future.

However, Liesel Matthews seems completely fine and well adjusted. Although she’s stopped acting, she is the heiress to the Hyatt Hotel’s fortune so I don’t think she’ll be returning to the attic anytime soon.
