Ram Dass (Errol Sitahal) – THEN
Ram Dass is by far one of the most underrated characters in this whole film – he solves all the problems!
As the manservant of the perennially unlucky Charles Randolph, he is the one who persuades Randolph to allow the amnesiac soldier (secretly Captain Crewe – shocker all round), thinking that even though he isn’t Charles’ son, he might remember something about him in the long run.
He also spots the girls in the attic from his own attic room next door and helps to make their lives slightly better by surprising them with finery to play with – and ultimately reuniting Sara with her father.
In real life, Errol Sitahal hasn’t been in a whole lot of films and shows since A Little Princess came out except in the Harold and Kumar films where he plays Doctor Patel.
