Snow fall in Atlanta, Georgia – BEFORE
We all love a bit of snow, but there’s a time when the novelty definitely wears off and waking up to a blanket of white is a bit of a pain in the butt.
In March 1993, the ‘Storm of the Century’ hit Atlanta, coating the streets with three-feet of deep snow and declaring Georgia into a state of emergency.
The snow began early on the morning and by the time it finished the state was completely covered in snow – with Union Country reporting 35 inches.
It wasn’t just extreme snow, but winds too. At 50mph the fierce storm blew the snow into a blizzard claiming the lives of fifteen people in Georgia.
