Helena Bonham Carter got carried away and perforated Neville’s eardrum during filming

Helena Bonham Carter undoubtedly fully immerses herself into any acting role and that’s part of the reason her playing Bellatrix Lestrange is awe-inspiring. Buuuut, maybe she got a tad carried away with her eccentricity when she was acting alongside Matthew Lewis. In one of her more dramatic moments when she was threatening Neville with a wand she poked him in the ear a little too far and accidentally perforated his eardrum. She explains:
“By mistake, I poked him in his ear. I thought I could brandish the wand like a sort of Q-tip, and clean out his ear. Sort of torture it. But unfortunately he moved toward the wand as I was prodding it.”
Neville is just as sweet in real life though, as he failed to mention how bad it actually was until days later. What a cutie pie.
