Whenever he had a gig, he would stay at the hotel he was performing at. But Steve would then find himself with nowhere to go.
For a while, he lived in his 1976 Ford Tempo and used bathrooms, petrol stations and swimming pool showers to keep himself clean. He even used a cooler in his backseat as a makeshift refrigerator.
