4. The slippers were supposed to be silver
Well, that is if they followed the original script from the book The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz written by L. Frank.
But the producers wanted to take advantage of the new Technicolor technology and make them a real symbol in the movie.

The big change was that they made them ruby red instead. I’m glad they made her shoes red and not boring silver.
