A Student set him up…
The attack occurred after a student posted a message on a Facebook group, provoking an assault on the far-right activist. The message said:
“If anyone wants to smash Tommy Robinson’s head in, he’s at this pub”.
It turns out someone did.
23. For all your tanning needs
While you’d expect Tommy to be selling bricks, concrete or something as equally manly; he, instead, used to own a tanning shop.

Until recent years, Tommy was the shop’s owner and manager. But after struggling to pay the rent, he had to give up the tanning business.
24. The shop ran into a couple of problems
Police targeted Robinson’s tanning business, as they suspected that he was committing tax fraud. But he claims that he kept:
“every receipt from the shop in four-five bin liners in the garage”.

After the special forces had analysed these receipts, Robinson wasn’t particularly polite about their enquiries:
“turned out to be a coupla quid, that I hadn’t declared enough… the f**** p***.”
25. He was then jailed for mortgage fraud
Tommy pleaded guilty to mortgage fraud and was sentenced to 18 months in prison. It was reported that over six months, the fraud amounted to around £160,000.
