Alligators and Allegations
This would make great lost Jane Austen novel, if only they got alligators in Aus (sadly it’s just crocs, and that doesn’t work as well).
2. Malcom McLaren dropped out and made some big allegations
The former sex pistols manager was set to appear on the show in 2007, but pulled out in a dramatic hissy fit.

He claimed the “talk of doom” hadn’t been scary at all. Apparently, the show’s doctor had told him
“Things are so safe, I would send my own kids in to do the show”
Sounds like a great dad, that one.
1. In 2009 the Aussie police got involved
The New South Wales Police pressed charges against Gino D’Acampo and Stuart Manning after their time in the Jungle.

In a particularly peckish moment, Manning and D’Acampo (who went on to win the series) killed and ate a rat- contravening NSW animal cruelty laws.
Despite all this, the show’s ratings remain sky high
Above is a rare snapshot of me slumped on my sofa watching hour after hour of I’m a Celeb. If all this has you eager to watch A listers getting tangled up with anacondas and B Listers forced to eat bugs, you’re in luck: I’m a Celeb returns to our screens November 2018.
