It was a bit awkward, and they had to send someone on an emergency run to their suppliers.

26. They have to breed bugs especially for the trials

There wasn’t much danger of them running out of creepy crawlies, though. That year their bug breeder produced over 150,000 crickets, a quarter of a million cockroaches and a staggering two and a half million meal worms.

Once they bred 1.5 million flies for a single task, all of whom were ironically unable to fly due to their unusual breeding conditions.

25. The year they ran out of spiders locals could BYO for cash

If – like me – you’re struggling even to look at that photo, you’ll be horrified to learnt that when the show ran out of spiders, locals were paid five dollars a pop to catch and donate the eight legged freaks.
