8. You can actually buy a ‘Talkboy’
Look at this piece of kit: a deluxe Talkboy. It’s got the distinctive 90s aesthetic that irritably draws Tamagotchis and scented gel pens to mind.
Originally it was just made as a non-funcitoning prop for the movie, but so many kids were clamouring for them they saw an opportunity to make some more $$$.
7. Home Alone 2 made $359 million worldwide
Not too shabby as hustles go. It fared a little worse than the original in the reviews- Robert Ebert from the Chicago Sun-Times wrote:
“Cartoon is only funny in cartoons. Most of the live-action attempts to duplicate animation have failed, because when flesh-and-blood figures hit the pavement, we can almost hear the bones crunch, and it isn’t funny.”
To be fair, it’s probably hard to hear that over the sound of money rolling in.
