In the first ‘Home Alone’ Kevin watches a old timey gangster noir, ‘Angels with Filthy Souls’, that they filmed especially for the movie. It was conceived as a parody of the 1938 film ‘Angels with Dirty Faces’.

I love a niche reference as much as the next self satisfied movie goer, and it’s even better because some people didn’t really get the joke and have been searching for the full movie online.

Impressively, it only took them one day to shoot! Perhaps that’s what encouraged them to reprise the joke in the sequel, in which Kevin watches ‘Angels with Even Filthier Souls’.
