Nine critics for Metacritic gave it “generally favourable reviews”, averaging out at sixty three out of one hundred.
Despite these lukewarm reviews, it’s still a certified fan favourite and unofficially declared one of the all time Christmas classics.
24. It was nominated for two academy awards
Despite Culkin’s “cute performance”, it didn’t nab him an Oscar nom for best actor. I know it wouldn’t have been deserved, but imagine how irritated Leonardo “always a bridesmaid” Di Caprio would’ve been.
It did get nominations for Best Original Score, and Best Original Song for “Somewhere in My Memory”.
