35. A Witch’s Cottage Was Found At Pendle Hill!
In 2011, a cottage was uncovered near the mysterious Pendle Hill that is believed to have belonged to one of the witches hung in the 17th century!
Upon investigation, it was discovered the ancient building had a sealed room, with the bones of a cat bricked into the wall. Gruesomely, the cat is thought to have been buried alive as a protection for the cottage’s inhabitants!
36. Essex’s Witch Prison!
During the 16th century, The Cage in St Osyth was used to imprison those accused of witchcraft -including Ursula Kemp who was hanged for her crimes. She, and all other prisoners held here are believed to haunt the building to this day!
