The 60-year-old star has opened up about her body confidence after her weight loss – which saw her shed 2st 4lbs over nine weeks, five years ago – and she wants to stay proud even if it embarrasses her children.

Denise – who has recreated the bikini photo that inspired her to drop the pounds – told the Daily Mirror newspaper:

“If it embarrasses my boys, I’ll definitely still be doing it when I’m 90 … I don’t care about the knockers – no pun intended.

“I’m not going to have anyone tell me that I can’t wear a bikini at 60. I’ve got a wobbly a**e, my boobs aren’t in the right place.

“I’ve got bumps and lumps and a tummy and I’ve had two children. But I don’t look bad for an old bird.”

Denise – who has sons Louis, 17, and Matty Healy, 29 – insisted she isn’t trying to look younger when she strips off for bikini snaps on social media, and admitted she wants to promote confidence for all older women.

She explained:

“I’m proud of how I look at 60 and I’m not trying to look 30. That’s the message I’m trying to deliver. So if I’m still getting my kit off at 90, so be it. Sorry children.”

Denise has lost weight due to eating plan LighterLife – which uses CBT to look into the emotional reasons behind overeating – and the ‘Loose Women’ star is now focused on helping morbidly obese people turn their lives around.

She added:

“Two people have reversed their Type 2 diabetes because of me… I know not to eat out of comfort, but I do still eat pies and fish and chips. I am a Geordie after all.”
