3. Chillingham Castle, Northumberland
This 13th century castle is chock full of ghosts – its website even has a page about them all, just in case you wanted to get familiar before your dreaded encounter…
Blue boy
The most famous ghost of Chillingham Castle comes in the ghost form of a boy known as “blue boy” or “radiant boy”…

Guests report seeing halos of light and blue flashes after hearing a loud wail. The light show sounds rather nice but the sound effects? Not so much!
Buried alive
Renovations took place in the castle and two bodies were found inside a 3 metre wall. Can you guess who they were? A man and…you guessed it – a young boy.

Apparently the bones of his fingers had been worn away to the nubs because he tried desperately to scratch his way out of the wall – not a pretty picture!
A bite to eat
If you plan on visiting Chillingham Castle any time soon, prepare to be bitten by invisible jaws in the dark, have your arms scratched and your hair pulled…
