6. Glamis Castle, Strathmore
Double, double, toil and trouble….sort of. Shakespeare’s Macbeth was set in this castle and although there are no witches here, there most definitely might be some ghosts…
Open sesame
Apparently, there’s a secret room within the walls of the castle which is yet to be discovered…

And it’s also said that if you hang towels outside every window inside and then go outside to count them, there won’t be a single towel hanging out of any of the windows – not sure if that’s scary or just double the laundry load once you find them!
Ghost got your tongue?
One of the most popular sightings have been of a woman that doesn’t have a tongue…

She wanders around, pointing to her injured face and can be seen looking out from a barred window – getting shudders picturing what on earth could have happened to her!
Drown your sorrows
Another ghostly face around the castle belongs to Earl Beardie – who is sometimes found standing over the beds of children. Maybe don’t take kids to a haunted castle next time, parents!
