After the departure of Brian McFadden, Filan was left worrying about the future of the band.

Hence he created a property company with his older brother, Finbar. However, there was soon a property crash in Ireland… you can see where we’re going!

His company ended up going bust, and with the split of the band, Filan ended up going bankrupt.

Talking about the issue, he said:
“Everything was gone – my home, the cars, all our money. I sobbed inconsolably. This was the bottom of the barrel”.
