Teenage Heart Throbs We Were More Than Desperate To Meet
I spent my early teens imagining ways to smuggle myself into Donny Osmond’s life – whether by way of rolling up in a rug, squashing into a suitcase or starting a window cleaning round at the Savoy, where he was staying, on tour. Surprisingly, none of these ideas transpired. Who else would be worth stalking?
David Essex – “Hold Me Close” Please
I felt I could drown in those deep, deep blue eyes, which twinkled when he sang. He was 20 odd years older than me, but love holds no barriers. I knew, even if he didn’t, that we were perfectly matched.

When the Partridge family series first appeared on our screens, I was hooked but not because of the riveting plot. I melted at the sight and sound of David Cassidy. I’d seen him on Top of the Pops and in ‘Jackie’ magazine, but to hear him actually speaking and looking directly at me, through the tv, was totally awesome.
David Cassidy – the ultimate “Daydreamer”
This is a corny story but totally true. I saved 6 tokens from the back of ‘Smiths’ crisp packets and sent them off for the ultimate gift – a plastic record of David Cassidy singing “I am a clown”. I played it so much that it practically melted on the record player turntable.

I was partial to a bit of tartan and that lead me to my next possible target, the lead singer with the Bay City Rollers. We already had something in common, the same hairstyle.
Les McKeown – a bit of tasty tartan
Once I’d grown out of this ‘phase’ and got myself a boyfriend, I tucked my heart throbs, in poster form, in a carrier bag and set my sights on real life. Is Andy Gibb available?
