The following town was named by the World Health Organisation as the most polluted town in the UK…
51. Port Talbot
Yes, the WHO accidentally published figures which doubled the pollution level of Port Talbot, putting it ahead of much bigger UK cities.

The mistake was acknowledged but, although not as bad as it first seemed, Port Talbot still isn’t the cleanest of places!
50. Salford
Unsurprisingly for a big town with a large population, Salford ranks as one of the dirtiest places in the UK.

It’s come a long way from being described as one of the worst places to live, but it could still do with a good scrub!
49. Sunderland
In 2016 Sunderland council was accused of:
“putting a higher priority on fountains than public health.”
