Size doesn’t matter
This goes to show that dirt isn’t just a big city problem, and can affect even a seemingly quiet village!
33. Stockton-on-Tees
This market town in the North-East of England has similar problems with litter as the rest of the UK.

The high levels of air pollution in Stockton, however, makes it an even more dirty and unhealthy place to live!
32. Birmingham
Big cities mean poor air quality and lots of waste on the streets and waterways.

A specific area in Birmingham, the canal bank by Northbrook Street, was also described as one of the worst “grotspots” in UK cities.
Might give that area a swerve next time I visit!
31. Doncaster
The Northern town was named as one of the worst places for littering in 2017, as over 3500 fixed penalty notices were given out for this offence.
This could mean residents are particularly dirty or Doncaster is particularly vigilant!
