9. Dick Van Dyke loves the film, but thinks he wasn’t the best
You have to be a particularly good performer to recognize that someone else could have done the role better than you, right?

Well, Dick Van Dyke has admitted that he believes Mary Poppins was the best film he was involved in. (Sorry, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang)
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is also very famous, though
But that doesn’t mean that he thinks he was the best Bert. In fact, he has since admitted that he thinks Jim Dale or Ron Moody would have performed better in the role.

This might possibly be related to receiving derision for his terrible Cockney accent in the film:
“the most atrocious cockney accent in the history of cinema”
Poor guy – he still can’t catch a break for it, all these years later…
10. Mouthing the wrong lines
This is probably a really easy mistake for children actors to make, seeing as they’re trying to learn so many lines.
