Gino D’Acampo is quite the personality, isn’t he? Whether he’s cooking up a storm, ensuring laughter with his broken English, or flaunting his naked body on a nudist beach…he certainly knows how to grab one’s attention – and keep it.
He’s famous most of all for his insanely talented approach to creating food dishes. But – like many other celebrity chefs before him – Gino sought the heart of the nation with his wit and charm.
It started with an appearance on a few cookery programmes, before the nation fell to his feet whilst appearing on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, of course leading to his regular spots on ITV’s This Morning.
Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have often been reduced to tears laughing at Gino’s antics – and us, the audience, with them (who can ever forget his grandma-bicycle joke?!).
But what else is there to know? Turns out a lot…
Home is where the heart is…
Gino wasn’t born in the UK – although he does now live here. And when it comes to cooking, he’s often inspired by his birthplace…
1. He was born in Naples, Italy
Gino was born in Torre del Greco – a Metropolitan city in Naples, Italy – on July 17, 1976.

Naples is famous for the volcanic eruption that occurred in 79 AD. It buried much of the surrounding area at the time – including Torre del Greco.
