28. Beric Dondarrion
I bet you guys didn’t even notice that this character first appeared in series 1, when he was sent by Ned Stark to bring The Mountain to justice…
He definitely went through a lot
After all, it wasn’t until series 3 that we were really introduced to Beric as a character. This happened when Arya and her companions stumbled into the company of the guerrilla resistance group, the Brotherhood Without Banners.

When Sandor Clegane, the Hound, was apprehended by the Brotherhood, it didn’t take long for Arya to demand justice.
Not at all what we expected…
The Hound was forced to fight a trial by combat against Beric himself. The Hound – the superior fighter – ultimately triumphed, slashing Beric open with his sword.

Beric’s companion Thoros (a red priest) then threw himself over the body of his friend and prayed for the Lord of Light to return him to the living!
Beric and Clegane were destined to cross paths again
Surprising everyone present – including us – Beric stood once more, seemingly recovered from his fatal wound. Resurrection was something unheard of in Thrones up until this point, making Beric’s return a true shock.
