7. Jaime’s hand
Jaime Lannister was renowned from the first episode as being a dashing, albeit selfish and arrogant, member of the Kingsguard.
Knight in dazzling armour – just not a particularly good guy
He was particularly known as the Kingslayer – for stabbing former king, Aerys Targaryen, before he had chance to massacre the inhabitants King’s Landing.

Of course, the latter details of Aerys’ death we didn’t find out until Jaime was on the road with Brienne of Tarth.
The dream team
This was following a certain event that was destined to change Jaime’s outlook on life altogether – the loss of his sword hand.

His sword-fighting skills were, of course, legendary. The loss of his sword hand sparked Jaime to find a new purpose.
Need a hand? … Too soon?
Watching this scene for the first time is a true shock to the system. Like Jaime, we as the viewer believed that he is untouchable. Turns out we’re wrong.
