29. The origin of the White Walkers
The White Walkers were signaled as making a scary return to the lands of Westeros, during the first ever scene of Thrones.
Some chilling stuff…
Since then, we have been reminded of them time and again – whether it be by the Stark logo, Bran’s odd visions, or Jon’s intrepid adventures beyond the Wall.

They’re coming for all of our favourite characters, no matter who they are. And they’re bringing the cold with them.
Please don’t with the jump scares!
Information about the White Walkers’ origins and purpose has remained scant throughout. Bran, of course, set out to find the Three-Eyed Raven and get answers.

Even now, it isn’t clear. But one snippet that did emerge during Bran’s visions was that the White Walkers were actually created by the Children of the Forest.
Some weird ritual
A surprising reveal – the Children of the Forest admit to Bran that they created the White Walkers to help them fight back against Mankind. I’m not sure what we were expecting – but it certainly wasn’t this!
