13. Viserys’ golden crown
Back before we hated Ramsay, and back before we hated Joffrey, we hated Viserys Targeryan.
A terrible brother
Viserys was the truth heir to the Iron Throne, as long as he was alive:
“All your spies, your little birds… Did they tell you Viserys was cruel, stupid and weak?”

And he was determined to get onto the throne – by any means necessary. Even if it meant selling his only sister to the Dothraki Horse-Lord, Khal Drogo.
Viserys agreed to a wedding between the two
When things didn’t go his way, and he saw that Daenerys was gaining the affection of the Dothraki, he confronted Drogo.

Arguing that he had traded Daenerys for an army to take the throne, he demanded that Drogo see his promise through.
A crown for the king
But Viserys made the grave mistake of threatening Daenerys’ unborn child. Drogo took great offense and decided to grant Viserys his golden crown – by melting a stack of Dothraki gold and dumping it on his head. Not pretty.
