It’s a supernatural hotspot
On the 7th October 2005, members of the Severnside Centre for Fortean Research visited the mansion to conduct paranormal research. They caught an apparition on CCTV. But that’s not all – a quick visit to YouTube and you’ll soon discover many videos claiming to have witnessed the paranormal in the mansion.
24. Hartwood Hospital, Lanarkshire
This hospital’s construction originally began in 1890, and it was quickly known as ‘Lanark District Asylum’.

At its peak, the asylum saw nearly 1,000 patients. Like almost all other asylums, its decline occurred due to the drug breakthrough in the 1950s.

The hospital closed in 1999. It caught fire in 2004 and suffered severe damage to the majority of its infrastructure.

23. Barrow Hospital Somerset
This hospital was first constructed in the 1920s due to serious overcrowding at other local hospitals.
