It has lots of stories to tell
The Golden Fleece is an inn found in York. It has a pub and rooms to stay in, and dates back to the 16th century.
A ghost was captured on camera
But it’s got a very creepy history. For one, it was once a morgue. When it first became an inn, apparently one of the landlords hung himself above the bar.

Not only that, but when a Canadian airman called Geoff Monroe stayed at the inn in 1945, he supposedly threw himself out of the window. All these ghosts are said to haunt the inn, and people claim to have seen them frequently.
10. The Red Lion Inn, Wiltshire
This inn is the only in the world which is surrounded by a circle of stone. People often stay after visiting Stonehenge.

Some have no issues at all, and others refuse to stay another night in the inn. They often claim to have witnessed paranormal activity.
An inn steeped in brutality
And there’s definitely some truth behind their words – the inn isn’t bereft of tragedy, to say the least. In fact, a famous story goes that a woman named Florrie lived at the inn. When her husband went off to war, she took another lover.
