He’s a cool dad…

Sandy was played by Peter Gallagher, who made his acting debut in 1979, starring in the TV show Guiding Light. He also acted in films such as Last Dance and Path to Paradise before being cast as Sandy Cohen.

The eyebrows are still in tact…phew!

After it was time to give up playing dad to Seth and Ryan (and pretty much Marissa and Summer too), Peter continued his acting career. He’s acted in films such as Burlesque, The War Boys and Step Up Revolution.

You can currently catch him acting on the hit US crime drama Law and Order: Special Victims Unit as Deputy Chief William Dodds.

The final member of the immediate Cohen family was, of course, Kirsten Cohen. Mum to Seth, and then Ryan – Kirsten was one of the coolest mums out there. She hardly yelled and was always there for her kids, even when they messed up (which was a lot).

American actress Kelly Rowan brought the character of Kirsten to life. She made her acting debut in 1985 in the film My Pet Monster. She is most known and remembered for her role as Kirsten. She was amazing in it, after all!

Since The OC, Kelly went on to act in numerous films such as Mount Pleasant and Rufus. She obviously missed playing a mum as she went on to play the mum in the film Cyberbully, featuring Emily Osment. She has also continued acting in TV and has starred in shows such as CSI: Miami, Flashpoint and Perception.
