“Welcome to the OC B**tch”
Exactly 15 years ago, Ryan Atwood pulled up to Newport, befriended his soon to be BFF and brother Seth Cohen and very, very quickly started to cause drama with Summer, Marissa and the rest.
It’s just like your average high school experience really – falling for the most popular girls in school, getting into too many bar fights, running away to find who yourself, near-death experiences and ruining Julie Cooper’s life.
The OC was dramatic. It was romantic, hilarious and absolutely bonkers at times. It was everything that was needed at the time and still needed today.
15 years is a long time – those teenagers are now fully-functioning adults. Scary.
So, let’s have a look at what they’re all up to in 2018 – hopefully, they’ve moved on from acting like their teenage portrayals…
1) Ben McKenzie
Ah, Ryan Atwood. The moody, mysterious boy who moved to Newport Beach, Orange County to live with the Cohen family. There was something very attractive about his rugged looks, right?
Baby face…
Ryan was played by none other than Ben McKenzie. Ben made his acting debut in 2002 starring in the TV series The District.

Before landing his big break on The OC, Ben had also starred in an episode of the TV show JAG. The OC was a defining role for Ben, that led to endless opportunities.
All grown up….
Since The OC, Ben has gone on to act in TV shows such as Southland, and you can now catch him in the hit US TV show Gotham.

He’s also acted in films such as Some Kind of Beautiful, Goodbye World, and Adventures in the Sin Bin. His role as troubled teen Ryan Atwood was the start of something great.
2) Mischa Barton
Troubled teens appeared to be a reoccurring theme in Orange County. Marissa Cooper appeared to have it all. One of the most popular girls in school, rich and absolutely beautiful. However, underneath it all, she was struggling to find herself.
