Getting dumped is tough…
Even in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest’, sporting a full face of CGI tentacles, Nighy’s character had a romantic side.
It’s definitely a look: Nighy as Davy Jones
In 2006 Bill starred in the second film of the globally successful franchise. Nighy swash buckled around opposite fellow stars Orlando Bloom, Johnny Depp and Kiera Knightley.

It turned out all the drama stemmed from Davy Jones’ broken heart. Is waging a never ending campaign of persecution and nautical villainy an overreaction to being dumped? Yes. Can we all relate? Yeah.

But Nighy has turned his hand to some decidedly less romantic roles in recent years, too. His cameo as the Chief Inspector in ‘Hot Fuzz’ may have been brief, but obviously made an impression on director Edgar Wright.

Of course, the ‘Harry Potter’ films are top of the bucket list for any British film actor, and Nighy managed to cross it off his in 2010 when he popped up as the minister for magic in ‘The Deathly Hallows, Part One’.

According to Nighy’s IMDB page, the actor is involved in a whole array of projects currently in production or post-production. So, it seems fans can expect lots more Nighy on their screens in 2019 and beyond.
