Here the plot saw Nighy’s character dump his wife Jean and instead take up a life of romantic Indian adventure with new bae Evelyn (Judi Dench).

On a romantic roll, Nighy has also recently starred in Richard Curtis rom-com ‘About Time’.

Here we saw the ‘Love Actually’ star as a jovial father figure, pretty unremarkable- oh, except for his ability to travel in time. He teaches his son (Domhnall Gleason) how to harness this power, passed as it is down the male line of their family- I guess that’s the patriarchy for you.

Gleeson decided to use this incredibly power to try and pull, and eventually ends up with Rachel McAdams which I think we can all agree is pretty good going. Bill: the ultimate wingman.
