The following decade saw Gibson put in myriad appearances on screen, from ‘The Singing Detective’ (2003), to Officer Cox on ‘Complete Savages’ TV Series (2004-2005), to join the star studded cast of ‘The Expendables 3’ in 2014.

Gibson’s IMDB profile reveals that in 2011 he appeared in a mysterious and largely low profile short film, written by and co-starring Jamie Foxx. This was around the time Foxx was championing a young undiscovered Ed Sheeran, so he certainly had a lot of irons in the fire.

Gibson’s most recent well known work was in ‘Daddy’s Home 2’, appearing as Mark Wahlberg’s father. Lucky he got in that practise of playing a returning father in ‘Fairytale’ all those years before’.
