In 2017, OFSTED reported that too many schools in Blackpool were inadequate as half of the schools (2,500 pupils) received below average education. Worse still, they said the councils were to blame!
41. St Helens
In this Merseyside borough, 20.68% of people have no qualifications but figures suggest that this is set to change for future generations.

Records now show that no St. Helens schools are in deficit (contrary to national trends) and performance in the Key Stage 1 and 2 SAT’s has been consistently above average.
