People always say that it takes no effort at all to produce a smile. They’re not exactly right.

In fact, the act of smiling involves the manipulation of up to 17 muscles. That’s probably why you sometimes ache from laughing or smiling too much.

But in a way, they’re right. Smiling uses far fewer muscles than frowning – the sad equivalent.

You actually use around 43 muscles to frown, in fact. Next time you think about it, remember that a smile is less effort!

34. You think incredibly fast
