The change between babyhood and adulthood

A recurring phenomenon when studying the body is the realization that many parts of it change between childhood and adulthood.

39. Your nails don’t all grow at the same speed

Nails are always growing. In fact, each nail grows around 3 milometers every single month.

But apparently your middle finger’s nail grows slightly faster than the rest, and the thumb’s nail slightly slower. Go figure.

38. A baby’s fingerprints develop at a few months

We all recall that moment in the film Juno where Su-Chin (a young pro-life activist) informs Juno that her unborn baby has fingernails.

But during the earliest stages of growth, a baby’s fingerprints also develop. It’s unlikely that you’ll ever find someone with quite the same fingerprints as you – although there’s always a small chance.

37. We lose taste buds

As we age, many of our senses become dimmed. But by the age of 60, most people have lost up to half of their taste buds. How bland.
