24. You have a lot of blood vessels
You can probably imagine that it takes a lot of vessels to transport blood all around the body.

But total length of our blood vessels – 100,000 km – is still a remarkably high figure!
23. Most of the body’s heat is lost through the head
We’re all familiar with the expression “keep your head above water”. It’s usually used when inspiring someone to keep their finances afloat.

But it actually refers back to the fact that the majority of the body’s heat (80%) is lost through the head! That’s why it’s important to keep your head afloat if you’re stuck in water.
