Bloopers

It can be reassuring to poke pedantic holes in scary movies, and indeed a great deal of the internet is devoted to this. Luckily for us, ‘The Witches’ has a few potholes and slip ups we can cling to as we rock backwards and forwards wishing we’d grown up enough to watch it on our own at night.

For instance, moviemistakes.com points out that when the Grand High Witch and assistant enter her hotel room, they’re clearly seen to be wearing pointy shoes.

A stellar fashion choice from some pretty fierce women, but sadly a bit of a plot hole- it’s clearly stated that witches can only wear clumpy square shoes.

A slightly more glaring error comes during the conference scene. When the grand high witch allows the gathered coven to remove their wigs, it’s quite obvious that only the first few rows are women in bald caps. A lot of the rest have been replaced by bald men.

A little sloppy, but not an industry first. If you watch 1983 musical extravangazek ‘Flashdance’, a lot of the final dance number is performed by a man in a wig.

Eagle eyed viewers have also pointed out that when the pram is rolling down the hill towards the cliff edge, there’s a cable visible securing it. An ironic slip up to come from Henson, master puppeteer.
