Did you notice…?

Everyone likes to spot little jokes or interesting in films, and The Secret Garden had some of its own!

Colin starts the film ill in bed, seemingly unable to walk. If you look closely at the tapestries in his room and the corridor to his room, you might notice something if you know your history…

They all portray Edward VI, a boy king who died aged 16. Colin thankfully recovered to avoid this fate!

17. Even more tapestries

They definitely wanted tapestries with meaning as Mary’s also symbolised her own journey in the film.

They showed a cycle called “The Hunt for the Unicorn”, where the unicorn is brought from the wild into a new life, just like Mary!

For those sharp-eyed enough to see, when Mary is being dressed near the start of the film, you can see “M.L.” embroidered on her stockings. That’s what I call attention to detail!
