Some are easier than others
For some casting directors it is clear immediately who should play a certain role and there is no question about having someone else!
31. Knott a problem
Andrew Knott was one of the front runners for the role of Dickon, and the decision to cast him wasn’t hard at all.

Knott was raised in Oldham and had attended the Oldham Theatre Workshop, so he was well able to take on a role in a big film.
32. Like brother like sister
Similarly, Laura Crossley, who plays Martha the maid and Dickon’s sister, was another obvious choice.

She too was from Oldham and had attended Oldham Theatre Workshop. They certainly were like siblings with their background!
33. Irishman
Although Lord Craven was meant to be an English lord, John Lynch who played him is in fact Irish!
