41. A Huge Turnaround
In 2007, Thornhill Community Academy had been branded by Ofsted as being among the 6% of the worst performing schools in England – definitely not something to be proud of…

However that all changed when Mr Mitchell took over the academy became the most improved school in the Yorkshire area!
42. GCSE Results
In 2012, 63% of pupils achieved five GCSEs between grades A* to C. The year before this number was down by 7%.
