29. Actors as voice-actors
Some of the actors hired for The Lord of the Rings helped out a lot with voice-overs.
The voice of Treebeard was supplied by John Rhys-Davies
This included John Rhys-Davies (Gimli), who provided the voice for Treebeard – the Ent who appears in the The Two Towers.

He of course had to make his voice a lot deeper – otherwise we’d have been able to recognize him too easily.
The Witch-king had an eerie voice
Andy Serkis also helped a whole lot by providing the voice not only for Gollum, but for the Witch-king of Angmar.

The Witch-king had a particularly eerie rasp of course – but given Serkis’ talents, who could doubt it was him?
Some of the Uruk-hai were even voiced over…
Serkis also helped provide a voice for some of Uruk-hai. Who’d have thought that these characters were also voiced by our favourite actors?
