17. Sean Bean went for a hike
The Lord of the Rings was filmed in several remote locations all over New Zealand.
The setting for the Edoras (Rohan) set, now pulled down
This meant that cast members usually had to be transported to the locations in a helicopter.

But this didn’t bode well for any cast members who didn’t like flying – including Sean Bean.

During the filming of scenes on location, Sean Bean opted to walk to set rather than fly.

Many of his fellow cast-mates have fond memories of watching Sean Bean – in full costume as Boromir – traipse over mountains to get to the set.
He flew up the mountain for this scene, but absolutely hated it
He always managed to get there, but after much hardship and sweating. Poor Sean. Would you have done the same thing, or chanced it?
