At the end of the trilogy, Bilbo, Gandalf and the remaining elves decide to journey to the Grey Havens.
Heading to the Grey Havens
Once a person decides to leave Middle-earth, they cannot return. This made Frodo’s own decision to go with them so much harder.

But he knew he had to go. This made his parting with Sam, Merry and Pippin very difficult – and even more so for the actors!
Poor hobbits…
The four hobbit actors gathered themselves together for a day of shooting the Grey Havens, where they have to say goodbye to Frodo.

They found it very difficult (because they were crying all day!), and hoped that they got the shot in that day. However, the next day they found out that Sean Astin (Sam) hadn’t been wearing the correct costume when they got the shot.
Definitely forced
So they had to do it all over again – much to their dismay. The situation got worse when the next time they tried, the film went out of focus. So they had to do it a third time! Think of how puffy their eyes were after a third full day of crying. Damn.
