He’s most memorable for the moment when the unit pass through the French town Neuville.

In Neuville, the soldiers come upon a French family who are stuck and terrified. The French father asks the soldiers to take his daughter to safety.
The French father wanted to save his children
Captain Miller refuses, but Caparzo ignores his orders and goes to help the child, specifying that she reminds him of his niece.

Of course, Caparzo then gets shot by a sniper – and the rest is history. But did you know that Spielberg wrote this entire part with Vin Diesel in mind?
Spielberg had watched Vin Diesel’s first film, Strays
Apparently, Spielberg had previously watched the independent film Strays – directed, written, produced and acted all by Vin Diesel himself. Spielberg was so impressed, he was determined to hire Vin Diesel. He even paid him $100,000 to do the role – despite Vin Diesel being pretty much unknown in the acting world.
