21. Heisenberg’s Hat…
Sort of like a Jekyll and Hyde scenario, Heisenberg’s hat was a way for fans to identify the more sinister side of Walter White.
A dark side…
What you might not have realised is that the addition of the iconic pork pie hat worn by the character, was added for a different reason…

It turns out there was a very practical reason for why Walter was given the hat…
A practical reason…
Breaking Bad costume designer, Kathleen Detoro shared:
“Bryan kept asking me, after he shaved his head, ‘Can I have a hat?’ because his head was cold,”

“So I would ask Vince and he kept saying no; Jesse wore the hats. Finally, Vince said, ‘I think there’s a place …’ It was Bryan asking for a hat, me asking Vince, and then Vince figuring out where in the story it makes sense: It’s when he really becomes Heisenberg.”
A trademark…
Thankfully, the production team changed their mind and added the hat – becoming a trademark for Walter’s alter ego!
