Borely Rectory is infamously known across the country after being described as the ‘most haunted house in England’, by psychic researcher Harry Price.

The rectory was originally built in 1862, with the intentions of housing the cleric of the parish of Borley and his family.

The Gothic style building was believed to have been haunted since it was built, however as the years went on…the belief grew stronger.
Sudden fame…
Paranormal researcher, Harry Price, who had previously written two books supporting the claims of paranormal activity visited the home in 1929.

His experience was documented and published by the Daily Mirror, which drew a lot of outside interest to Borley Rectory.
It replaced an old rectory…
Previously, the grounds of Borley Rectory were home to another rectory, which succumbed to fire damage in 1841.
